Mansfield District Council sought a fully hosted and certified card payment solution to meet the stringent requirements of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). They aimed to move away from their on-site system, which demanded significant financial and staff resources, towards a solution that would stay up-to-date with evolving PCI compliance requirements.

Access PaySuite provided a fully hosted and certified card payment solution, ensuring compliance with PCI DSS and freeing up staff from server maintenance. The solution offered a range of convenient payment options, including online, telephone, contact center, and face-to-face payments. Additionally, Access PaySuite’s income management feature facilitated control, reconciliation, and reporting of collected income.
The results:
By implementing Access PaySuite’s solution, Mansfield District Council gained greater flexibility to tailor their system to meet customer needs and deliver an enhanced user experience. The council could easily create and maintain customised reports and configure web pages without relying on external systems providers.
The solution's touch-tone payment prompts provided the council with more control over content and payment options. With future developments and expanding options, Mansfield District Council can embrace new technologies and ensure they continue to meet the evolving needs and expectations of their customers.
"We have seen a reduction in card processing costs, with Access PaySuite offering a blended rate, whereas formerly our charges comprised two separate elements, the transaction rate from the bank and a ‘per-click’ processing charge.
The same applies to the costs associated with payments at the Post Office and PayPoint, where once again, overall costs from Access PaySuite have delivered a saving of over 7% as compared with our previous provider, with the added bonus that all payments are now handled through a single provider.
The managed service has proved extremely reliable, all backed up by excellent support from the Help Desk. Moreover, the team at Access PaySuite is able to demonstrate an impressive product roadmap, as outlined at their recent round of annual user groups, which were well-attended and proved an excellent forum and opportunity for networking with other councils.
With the on-going security of cardholder data in mind, we are now considering further options – including Call Secure solution for our call centre payments, P2PE (Point to Point Encryption) and installing Chip & PIN devices at outlying offices.”
